In Japanese schools, I don't have many opportunities to speak in English.

But here, I do! I'm so happy!

About Us

We provide immersion classes to help returnee children maintain their English skills.

The Japanese school system does not support returnee children in maintaining the English proficiency they have acquired. Without appropriate support, even children who have the same ability as native speakers will gradually lose their ability within 2 to 3 months.

This is also known as, "language attrition".

I had heard that children returning from overseas reach their peak in English ability when they return, but then it gradually declines after that. I was hoping to find a program that could somehow help my children maintain their English abilities from abroad. When I found this English conversation school, I immediately contacted them, scheduled a trial lesson, and after seeing the lively expression on my children's faces, I decided to enroll. I am grateful that my children's English abilities are now better than when they first returned to Japan.

What is

Immersion Teaching?

Language immersion, or simply immersion, is a method of teaching a second language in which the learners’ second language (L2) is the medium of classroom instruction.

Through this method, learners study school subjects, such as math, science, and social studies, in their L2. The main purpose of this method is to foster bilingualism, in other words, to develop learners' communicative competence or language proficiency in their L2 in addition to their first or native language (L1).

Our qualified staff ensure that each child's needs are always recognized and fulfilled.

Our staff is dedicated to understanding each child's needs and helping them to reach their goals.

We provide a safe learning environment for children where they can use their own imagination and creativity to learn English. We are proud to offer the only and best English conversation learning program in Hamamatsu City.

The other day, my son, who is a junior high school student, told me that his friends at school can't understand their English lessons. The nuances of a language can really be quite a challenge to understand and learn. When I heard that, I realized how good it was that I had my son learn English through immersion education from an early age.

Tammy is from Australia and has a special passion for immersion teaching, especially when it comes to returnee children who have spent time abroad or in international kindergartens or schools and acquired a native level of English. Majoring in linguistics and education, Tammy has taught in Australian primary and secondary schools and has taught English to Japanese children and adults for over 40 years. She is also the curriculum and resources manager at UCAN2 which she has done for over 15 years. She also plans the intricate student centred lessons each week.

My children enjoy the lessons every time. The teachers are professionals and are very good at what they do. So before I knew it, my children's English skills had improved a lot. In an all-English environment, the children can experience a variety of things throughout the day: during lessons, lunch time, recreation, games, and sports activities. It feels like a mini study-abroad experience while still in Japan! They also get to eat international lunches every week, so that's another thing they look forward to! ︎
